My son's 2015 honda was throwing all kinds of warning lights and the power steering would go out randomly. The guys at Lael's diagnosed the problem and found out the part was under warranty and fixed it for $0.

Lael and his team are the best! A while back, they installed a remanufactured engine in my '96 Cherokee and overhauled the whole front end. Today was just an oil change, R134 recharge, and diagnostic for a strange noise. They accomplished everything the same day. Customer for life!

I highly recommend this business. Lael has excellent customer service. I messed up my driver side mirror and was afraid to drive with it. Lael told me to come in right away as that is the most important mirror. Luckily, it wasn’t broken and was able to go back in place after quite a bit of effort. This level of kindness and service will make me a lifelong customer!

Needed a new shop as my previous shop(of 15+years) does not work on the make of my new to me make, was referred by a neighbor. Needed a new battery and overall used car diagnostic. Cost was less than quote, everything was explained...before and after hours drop off & pick up, very easy payment method for after hours pick up, well lit after hours, waiting room but also walking distance to business area. They are very honest and straightforward. The mechanics did a great job and the vehicle has been running perfect for the last year. Clean work was performed with quality parts installed. I was in the market for purchasing a used car and I came across their shop needing a pre purchase inspection. Brandon was super helpful and the shop had a family vibe feeling where they were super trustworthy. After getting a very detailed 140 point inspection. I was provided with a clear easy to read, detailed report with pictures. Brandon took as much time as I needed and explained to me anything wrong with the car or the needed to be addressed and went at my pace and asked if I had questions ect. He made sure all my questions were answered and I felt 100% comfortable before I left. He was so helpful and I wouldn’t have wanted to go anywhere else. 10/10! I am very satisfied with their service and would definitely recommend them.

I would trust Lael, Brandon, and the whole team with any and all of my vehicles. After an exhausting and expensive process of trying to figure out why my car would shut off and countless shops telling me “there is nothing wrong with it”. Lael’s was the first to offer a deeper look into finding the real solution and was able to diagnose my vehicle. They are reasonable, Fair, easy to talk to, and knowledgeable about all types of vehicles. I trust them with my Subaru, Dodge RAM, and Mini Cooper and cannot recommend this shop enough.

Another shop told me I needed wheel bearings for my 2012 Mercedes E350. Called Laels' for an estimate and he told me to bring it in and he would do a diagnostic at no charge. He let me speak to his Mercedes tech, Orlando, who drove it, put it up on the lift and said I needed engine mounts. Long story short, I got the work down there and on the way home my wife was so excited she actually made me pull over so I could drive it. It felt like when it was new! So smooth. Thank-you Orlando and Lael, we're extremely happy with the work done.

I was told by another mechanic shop that my Mercedes GLE needed rear brakes. Laels was referred to me by a friend, so I contacted them and made an appointment. Laels contacted me after looking over my vehicle and told me my brakes had enough life in them and it was not time to replace them. They had me come pick up my vehicle at no charge. I am very grateful for their honesty, this is the type of mechanic shop that everybody wants to work with. I will be definitely going back to them when my vehicle is ready to be serviced.

I brought my 9 year old Nissan Versa Note S for a oil change & free 40 point check-up because I am a AAA member. When I drove up & saw a CHP car parked in front - I knew I was in the right place. Brian checked me in but the rest if the team were just as kind & helpful towards me while I waited for my car to be serviced. I am convinced that this is a place I can trust to give my car the service it needs & nothing more. They had suggestions of more work to be done but listed them on my receipt for future reference. All this to say I am grateful that there are still great mechanics who do a great job at a reasonable price & are trustworthy.

I have previously left glowing reviews. Very sadly I must change them. I asked to change the transmission fluid for maintenance. I didn’t realize they had stripped the bolt holding the fluid. Nor did I know I was leaking all the transmission fluid until I needed a tow. When asked to fix this problem, all I got was you need a new transmission NO WARRANTY. Sorry can’t fix it nor would they take any responsibility they caused the problem. Of course I won’t return. I am an honest person and I cannot consciously suggest a crooked place that just wants your money. This pains me but I don’t want to see others suffer my problems. If I had not asked for maintenance I would be driving the freeways instead of gathering money to fix the problem from Laels.

If I could give these guys 10 stars I would. Not only did they fix what needed to be fixed w/out trying to upsell me, but they treated me like a daughter or a friends sister. Brandon & Lael went above and beyond helping me. Very calm, kind, guys who will listen to you & not make you feel weird about not knowing car stuff. After I’d paid & was about to go they filled my fluids & even replaced my crappy windshield wipers free of charge. My car had been broken into and they provided me w/excellent affordable referrals for an alarm because they knew I was broke. Can not say enough good things about these guys. If you need something fixed GO TO THEM. You won’t regret it. 100/10

Because yes, they were. Inherently when you go somewhere new, and it's your car or van - you kind of get nervous. I asked about suspension, check it and make recommendation. Brandon called me and recommended front struts, etc. and suggested doing the rear too and assured me it would feel like new; exactly what I needed to hear! My car feels JUST LIKE NEW!! Lael was able to quickly determine what needed to be done and promptly completed the repairs. The price was very reasonable and the customer service top notch! Lael explained everything along the way and was extremely knowledgeable. We plan to schedule maintenance on our car when we pass through this area next year. It's hard to find a GOOD mechanic that hits all the buttons, but this shop did. Full service, excellent communication, knowledgeable and reasonable. The technicians found the problem quickly and it was shocking to have such professionals handle the issue. We thought we would have to donate the car, expecting astronomical costs. It was an absolute miracle to find a place that would honestly address the issue. Overjoyed at the solution to fix the issues. Overwhelmed with joy to have the expected answer to be something totally unexpected. I couldn’t recommend Laels at more than 5 stars, unfortunately. My transmission in my 2016 Chevy Silverado failed and I took it to multiple places. Luckily I was referred to Laels. Lael the owner of the company reassured me that he could replace it and have it back to me in no time. Sure enough he did! He not only gave me a complete breakdown of what the work would entail. But also took me into his workshop and let me take a look at the old transmission. He also sent me pictures of the work as it was being completed withought me even asking. He rode with me on a test drive when repairs were completed to ensure the work was done correctly and I was satisfied. I highly recommend Laels to anybody who is on the fence about the what mechanic to use. He also gave me a 3 year warranty on the new transmission. Overall a pleasant experience for such a unpleasant situation.

Brought my 2013 Mercedes ML-350 SUV here for a B7 service back in Nov. They changed the oil, performed a brake fluid flush, replaced the cabin air filters, front and rear wipers and replaced the coolant. What was nice is after a 40 point inspection, they sent me a link to a website which detailed all of the inspected items (with photos) and the recommended services with a price for each. I could pick and choose what I wanted or could afford to do at that time. Compare this to European Autoworks on Melrose that charged me $600 for a B service, and didn't tell me any details about what they were going to do or what they did after the fact. Completely in the dark on that one. Only issue we had was the next day we got a "Check Coolant Level" error on the dash which didn't make any sense as they performed a flush of the coolant. We still have the issue, just need to get some coolant to top it up. Outside of that, they were great to work with and would come back for future service work or repairs.

$3,542 and the check engine light is still on. Using more oil than before I brought it there. Which is the reason I brought it in. Engine cover was not put back on and plastic was hanging out of the bottom of my car when I got it back. Same codes are still reading. !!! They call themselves master mechanics . The only thing they have mastered is taking seniors for their money. I was told my car had a lot of life left in it but now they say the opposite after taking my money.

Had a great experience here with technician Nick. We thought we broke down around Camp Pendleton and risked it to get here. My car thankfully didn’t have the problems we assumed it had- but Nick went above in beyond making sure it was drivable since we were coming from out of town. Lael's was recommended to me by the Carlsbad Jeep dealership, and I am very pleased with their work. My Jeep Wrangler was stolen and taken to Tijuana. Luckily I had a tracking device and was able to recover the car through a repo company. I brought it to Lael and he was very helpful in providing detailed explanations for all of the necessary repairs. Communication throughout the process has been fantastic. I've taken my 2016 Cadillac Escalade to Lael's twice now and they are the best!!! Back in December of last year, I needed a new thermostat and the dealership couldn't even diagnose it for 2 days... I decided to try somewhere new and I'm glad to have found Lael's. They diagnosed and replaced the thermostat the same day, with a warranty. I went back today for a smog and was in and out with my certificate in about 30 minutes. I would definitely recommend Lael's to anyone looking for an honest and reasonably priced mechanic.

Best auto shop in North County!!! Everyone working here is top notch! The customer service is great and their handy work is even better! My car wouldn’t start on Wednesday afternoon, AAA towed it to Laels (I didn’t even have to go) and not even 24 hours later on Thursday afternoon they had it fixed and ready for pick up!! They are friendly, caring and honest people. Check them out! You won’t be disappointed. And Btw my car is over 20 years old.

I took a 250 Diesel truck to fix the breakage as they were going to fix it, they charged me more than $3000 but in reality it was not the opposite as after a few days the breakage started again and now with the check light I asked and they said that was another problem and in the end they wanted to charge me more than 1500 dollars more for that. In short, they didn't fix anything for me, on the contrary, they broke down my truck even more and kept my money. I don't recommend them

Miguel, we are deeply sorry to hear you were not happy with the service you received. I believe there is some miscommunication, and I would like to correct a few statements. On November 10, 2023 you brought in your vehicle for an oil leak and an alternator charging concern. We found the problem in the alternator wiring harness that shorted out the alternator. For the oil leak, the engine was leaking extremely bad and extreme amounts of oil was all over the engine. We found the turbocharger oil return tube to be leaking oil. You authorized the repairs. After repairs were made we washed the engine for you as per "Goodwill" - no charge. You returned 1500 miles later for the second visit and there was still a lot of residual from the oil leak on the engine and on the frame from the oil return tube. We then proceeded to clean again as per "Goodwill" - no charge. Your last visit with us was on December 08, 2023. We inspected the vehicle again for the oil leak as per "Goodwill" - no charge, and found the oil pump to be leaking. We gave you an estimate which was declined. As per our records show, a courtesy scan was performed on the very last visit, Codes received P0578 Cruise Multi Function A Circuit Stuck, P012F Engine coolant Temp/Oil Temp Correlation, and P0672 Cylinder 2 Glow Plug Circuit. None of these codes are related to the oil leak and alternator. We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the service we provided to you, and you were not happy with the results of the tests performed, but thankfully we were able to give you the answers you needed to be able to get your vehicle repaired. This review is long overdue. I met Lael has his team on a fateful day when the car engine of my 2013 BMW X3 completely died not far from their doorsteps. Over the next couple of weeks, Lael and his team did their best to help me out almost as if I was their old friend. This included an initial diagnosis, help arrange a tow truck, help rent a discounted rental, provide free extended parking at their premises and help move the car. To my surprise Lael continued to provide me advice that was in my best interest even if that meant no business for him. Hard to believe there are still people like that in auto service industry. While I am sad that my car broke down, I am glad it broke close to his workshop.

While renting a car I had a huge problem that I needed to be solved faster than the car rental proposed. Towing, taking the car to the office, wait for a new car, waiting for a new contract, etc., A web search took me to contact Lael. As soon as I talked to him I felt this is the guy who will solve me the problem. His empathy was very needed in that moment. He was informative and I got a full understanding of the problem and the work needed to solve it. He stayed till 8pm to finish the job and I could continue my trip via Route one! I appreciate he made me feel I am the good hands. The work performed was great.

As luck would have it, AAA introduced me to Lael’s Automotive and I am totally happy that I found this international autoshop. Lael gave me a full service tune up and he fixed my A/C and I didn’t even ask, he just fixed it for me. And what a game changer it is to have my A/C working in the car after doing without from the day I bought it. I had an electrical fire in my car and Lael happened to have a parts car on his lot and he was able to pull the wiring harness and replace it for me. I feel like I have a great reliable and safe car after Lael’s shop took care of it. Lael is honest, trustworthy and affordable and I recommend his expertise to all my friends. Try it, you won’t regret it.

I have a Kia soul 2013 which did not pass smog with blue smoke. This shop was recommended to me by lightning smog for repairs and a diagnosis of the issue. Turns out the blue smoke may have been caused by PCV valve issues and overfilling of the oil. They did a full inspection of the car and found that the oil had been overfilled, the brake fluid was dirty, the transmission fluid needed to be replaced wipers were defective rear license plate bulbs were out brake fluid flush and air filter replacement. These were all maintenance things that needed to be done as my car has 135,000 mi. I had wanted Kia of Carlsbad to do maintenance a month ago which they did not service. They ended up overfilling the oil which caused the original problem of failing the smog test! But I'm glad that I found all of these other maintenance issues that needed to be replaced and addressed. I'm going to be going to Lael's from now on because Kia was the ones that created the issue and they never did the maintenance I asked them to do. Lael's service was quick and courteous. I believe that the prices were reasonable within acceptable range. I don't do any of the maintenance on my own car so I am happy to pay for good work. I am very happy with Lael's. My experience with great and I expect to continue going to them with my Dodge ram truck in the future as well as this Kia. Highly recommend. Kia lost a customer and now Lael's gained one.

Laels is the BEST extremely honest and very knowledgeable !!!! And Very good price . As a father of a young marine and him new to the area and by his self out here . didn’t know where to send his broken down jeep. I didn’t want him to just go anywhere and mechanics taking advantage of him. after reading all the good reviews from laels decided to give them a try , and thank god we did they got our car running in 2 days , with electrical issues and even recommended us to a very good towing company they are lifesavers and have a customer for life . They are very pro military and have plenty of veterans working with them . Again thank you laels and your awesome team of mechanics.

If you are looking for a good place, unfortunately, this place isnt it. Professionalism is key for me, honesty is another, and ethics are required for me to place trust in a facility. It is my opinion I didn't feel I got any of the above from them, especially the owner that cuts every corner he can. Makes me sad due to a beginning good relationship that ended in all of the above falling apart. I will not be traveling to that location ever again. Rather go somewhere else. Find another company is my recommendation for you

Well let me just tell you ..... I started looking for a new mechanic. Because my old mechanic used to overcharge me. My father worked for the bar association. Which is the bureau of automotive repair? So he taught me a few things.. I started off talking to Bob, who was wonderful. He explained everything that needed to be done or had to be done. He also explained how the vehicle could be fixed under a comprehensive insurance claim. They fixed the vehicle in no time. they stayed in contact with me the whole time. Everyone that works there is not only a master mechanic. But they're, like, the nicest people ever. I have a fleet of vehicles that I need serviced I found my new mechanic. One of the guys told me that they may not be the cheapest, but they'll be one of the best. Guys, they are not that expensive. Comparatively to other shops, their rates are really good. We love Bob , Leil, and the boys!

Nick did a great job diagnosing and explaining all the problems we had with our Infiniti. If you own an Infiniti, then this is a great choice in lieu of the dealer. I gave 4 stars out of 5, just because I don't have much experience with them. I am sure they are capable of 5 star repairs, so I am sure they will be working on our Infiniti in the near future.

As a single woman, it's important to find a good, honest mechanic. Lael's International Auto Services is the perfect place for me. The office staff is also very knowledgeable. They've helped me with everything from which tires to buy, synthetic oil, alignment, to auto detailing and ceramic coating to make my car look it's best. I call Lael's whenever I have a question about my car. During my last visit, the mechanic even changed my clock to the correct time. I could hardly believe it. Lael is one of the last old-school businessman that truly believes in “the customer comes first.” In all of the dealings I’ve had with him in the last couple of years I always felt taken care of. You can tell that he truly cares about doing the right thing at all times and building a business relationship with his customers. He has gone above and beyond while taking care of my vehicle. I had requested a check for oil leaks and hose wear and tare. I mentioned that it was something that needed repair on my other car. They quickly looked up the work done on the previous car and made the same analysis on my second car. The service was quick and I also got the usual analysis of the cars maintenance issues. I spent $2200+ on repairs here and specifically asked that my car be completely fixed by the time I drive to Chicago. I had to take it back 2 days later and pay more out of pocket for more that needed to be fixed from what was previously fixed. Well now I’m sitting on the side of the road with my 3 month old baby and waiting on AAA… they had full authorization to get everything worked on. I also have receipts with proof that after the first $1000 I had to take it back because they didn’t get the issue fixed

After failing CA smog, went to Lael's to have it diagnosed and fixed. Every step of the way, I was contacted, informed and updated on cost and next steps. The tech that worked on my car is one of their veteran tech's, a smog/emissions expert and just happened to also be their BMW mechanic. He was able to diagnose and fix my car to a point where the emissions are the best they've been since I've owned the car! I have documentation that includes commentary from their tech of every step they took with the diagnosis, what worked, what didn't work, etc. With what Lael's has done for my car, I won't have CA Smog anxiety ever again. The other part that I liked was that they texted me pictures of other issues they ran into as they were working on the smog issue, like fan belts that needed replacing. I wasn't pressured, just informed. If you are looking for an honest automotive repair shop with well trained staff and reasonable prices, you have to give Lael's a call. Let them earn your business like they did mine. I am a happy customer. Thank you Lael's!

I don’t even know where to begin with this review, but hands down best experience I’ve had at an auto shop in years! When my car wasn’t starting everyone believed it to be just the battery, however in the short amount of time it spent at laels auto service they were able to accurately diagnose and fix the issue. I luckily had an extended warranty I purchased through switch and lael had no problem getting into contact with them and helping me get the issue covered ! The Staff was outstanding and took great care of not only my car but also myself. I took my Mercedes to Laels garage due to a failed smog test at a test only facility. To start, my car had failed smog which cost $40.00. After getting an estimate from Laels to diagnose the problem someone decided another smog test at a cost of $108 was needed. This was nothing but a waste of time and money, my money. Of course while trying to figure out the reason the car failed the smog, which they never really did. They poked around the car looking for other repairs to do, in an attempt to further separate more money from me. The total bill was some $300.00 plus dollars. The service adviser ran off a long laundry list of deficiencies which included the windshield spray water bottle was empty, the transmission was leaking, the rear differential was leaking etc. They wanted to charge me another $500.00 bringing the total up over $800 which would still not guarantee my car passing smog. Due to my push back they said my car was too old, but they still took it in, and also I am not “their” type of customer. I had no choice but to come and pick the car up. I am very disappointed. The $108.00 for the second failed smog test should be returned to me.

As usual, Lael’s came to the rescue. Long story short, My battery needed replacement (I thought) as my car died at Costco. I figured I would just go buy a battery there - so I did. Turns it the connection was so corroded a piece broke off and it couldn’t connect. I was able to have the car jump started and went straight to Lael’s where my go to people rescued me once again. I was so lucky! Imagine 3 pm on a Friday afternoon finding a place with the part and the willingness to fix it and rescue me! Lael’s has always come through for me - and I recommend them highly. Took my 2017 Tacoma as a key fob was not being recognized and truck would not turn on. Took John 1.5 days to determine the issue and the source. Toyota dealership took a full week to shins the issue and gave me a temporary fix. But never found the source. Definitely a go to shop.
